Postponed from last year due to a certain infamous incident in Colorado, this is an ambitious tale of random violence breaking out all over Sunnydale. There are flashbacks to the Roman Emperor Caligulia and a doomed slayer and her traitorous best friend. Meanwhile people are acting very aggressively, Giles acts even more self-righteous than ever, while Willow is her typical self: an obnoxious whiny bitch. Willow is just so utterly annoying every single thing she sees only how it affects her, namely Xander/Cordelia and Xander/Faith and Oz/Verruca. Just SHUT UP Willow. No Wesley or Faith. The plot is way overbooked. The climax features Oz, Cordelia, Willow, Xander and Buffy fighting to the death in a mini coliseum built beneath Sunnydale. Faith and Wesley apparently do not exist in this book. When are the novels going to stop focusing on Season 3? BTVS is heading into Season 5 you know. A good read but please just get rid of Willow.
