A very, very bizarre novel. At first it seems to be about a crime wave, exploited immigrants and a Death God worshipper but by the end everything has changed. The character of Meg in particular undergoes a complete transformation. The entire novel is a giant act of misdirection with a plot impossible to summarise. Well worth reading, if only for the loud "UH?!??!" when you get to the end.
