The Last Broadcast (1998)

Reviewer - Lynda M Hughes

Four young men head into the pine barrons in search of the legendary Jersey Devil, only one comes back. The survivor is convicted of their murders and then dies mysteriously in jail. Now a filmmaker has made this documentary to find out what really happened that night in the words.

This film looks like it was shot in someone's back garden for a budget of pocket change. Yes it is similar to the 'Blair Witch Project' but this film was made first. Comparisons are inevitable. I liked bits of this film but other bits were dull and the ending is totally stupid.

The picture quality is bad, the sound is muffled and the acting is terrible. As for the monotone voiceover it could induce homicidal impulses in unwary viewers. The ending comes out of nowhere and destroys the film, I had some mild interest as to what happened but the ending just totally negates everything that has gone before and made me sorry I bothered to watch this film.

Some people may want to check it out for sheer curiosity value but don't bother.
