A hilarious black comic gem. It ran for three years but the b#####ds at Sky1 only ever showed year one here. It was hilarious and it was ALL TRUE. The lead actor/creator/writer Christopher Titus put his entire screwed up childhood into this show. It all really happened. Scary.
Christopher Titus was raised by an alcoholic womanizing father and a manic-depressive schizophrenic mother. His girlfriend is Erin, she sees him as the man who will save her from her crazy dysfunctional family by making her a part of his crazy dysfunctional family. His 'brother' is Dave who is the son of one of Papa Titus' ex-wives. She ran off and abandoned him so Papa Titus raised him as his own despite having no blood ties to him at all. Ken "Papa" Titus (as played by the scary Stacy Keach) is described as "From that era when you lived to fifty, your heart exploded, and that was that." Papa Titus has survived five divorces, an endless parade of cheap women, countless beers and cigarettes and has completely destroyed the emotional well-being of his children. Despite this, he has never missed a car payment or a mortgage payment, or failed to take care of his family.
DAD IS DEAD
When Dave notices that he hasn't seen Papa Titus come out of his room in over four days, he starts to suspect the worst. Christopher is sceptical, until he realizes that Dad has gone four days without beer and that means he must be dead. Hilarious. Who knew alcoholism, death, and abuse could be funny? Then there is the story of how Papa Titus taught Dave to swim by throwing him into a lake and yelling "Swim wussy!"
SEX WITH PUDDING
When Christopher suspects his girlfriend Erin is having an affair, he raids Erin's office and ends up in a hostage situation. With him as the hostage taker. Oh dear.
DAVE MOVES OUT
When Christopher convinces Dave to move out of Dad's house and sneak his possessions out in the night so Dad won't find out, Papa Titus has Dave arrested for stealing. Papa Titus is one of the most hateful characters ever conceived for television. He is flagrantly abusive, politically incorrect and the antithesis of all television fathers (except for perhaps Lionel Luthor on 'Smallville') Yet he is the best and funniest thing about this show.
THE BREAKUP
Christopher is freaked out how perfect Erin is and how smooth and problem-free their relationship is and so decides to sabotage things a little so that he has something to fix. Unfortunately, he sabotages things a little too well, and ends up finding solace with a stranger. Not enough Papa Titus in this ep.
TITUS INTEGRITOUS
Christopher and co are to sell a car to a dot com millionaire but things go wrong. Very wrong. Christopher Titus once again screws up his life without his father's help.
RED ASPHALT
On the way to Dad's birthday party, Christopher gets cut off on the freeway by a bad driver. So Dave gives him the finger. This leads to Christopher, Dave, and Erin being chased up and down the freeway by the bad driver who is also a gun-toting maniac. Hilarious.
MOM'S NOT NUTS
Christopher's manic-depressive schizophrenic mother gets released from a mental institution and she stops by to make Thanksgiving dinner. Christopher, armed with a baseball bat, refuses to let his guard down for a second. Meanwhile the rest of the family gradually lets her back into their lives. Has she changed? NO! Hilarious.
INTERVENTION
Concerned about his recent behaviour, the family gathers around Papa Titus for an intervention. An intervention to get him to start drinking again. Christopher, alarmed at his father's rapid decline into sobriety, wants his father to admit he has a "non-drinking problem." Papa Titus reigns supreme and screws over his kids once more. Hilarious.

Christopher rushes to the hospital after Papa Titus has a heart attack and crashes his car only for Papa to blame him for it. Devastated, Christopher tries everything in his power to get back into his father's good graces until the police show up and show Titus the traffic camera photos of the car crash and the hooker in the car with Papa Titus. Which leads to some unforeseen consequences.
