Written, produced and directed by David Arquette, best known as Deputy Dewey in the 'Scream' trilogy.
A group of idiot drug guzzling sluttish hippies head into the woods for a music festival. There they encounter an axe-wielding maniac with a Ronald Regan obsession and a pathological hatred of hippies. It's hippie killing time!
"I'm not going out there with Chuck Manson on the loose!"
Soon the hippies including Samantha (Jaime King - 'Sin City'), Ivan (Lukas Haas - 'Witness') and Linda (Marsha Thomason - 'Las Vegas', 'Long Time Dead', 'Lost') are being sliced and diced. Meanwhile the scummy music producer (Paul Reubens - 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer') ignores the piles of dead hippies to carry on making money while local cop Buzz (Thomas Jane - 'The Mist', 'The Punisher', 'Deep Blue Sea') tries to put a stop to the hippie killing. Adding to the trouble are Samantha's deranged yuppie ex-boyfriend Jimmy (Balthazar Getty - 'Brothers & Sisters', 'Charmed', 'Judge Dredd') and a pack of killer dogs.
"This is the last time I'm going to warn you commie pinko bastards."
This is an entertaining horror. It has Thomas Jane sporting a porn-tache, Courteney Cox-Arquette making a cameo as a moron hippie who gets eaten by dogs, Balthazar Getty's character getting axed to death while screaming: "But I'm a Republican!" and tons of David Arquette's really unsubtle social commentary. It's not briliant but it is okay.
